5/18/2012-5/20/2012
- St. Mary's Bryantown School 1:00 PM
This is a FREE Event
St. Mary's Bryantown School is hosting the Second Annual, Field of Honor, a very special community event. The Field of Honor is not only a tribute to our Veterans, but also the people who make us Proud to be an American (parents, teachers, children, co-workers, health care workers, law enforcement members, emergency first responders, etc.) The field will be transformed into a living display of hundreds of 3 ft. by 5 ft. flags atop 8 ft. poles. Each flag includes a personalized card and bow in honor/memory of your hero. Just imagine, walking the field listening to the wind whipping through the flags and stroking your cheeks. The opening event is happening rain or shine on May 18 at 1:00 and will include local officials, the Navy band and others yet to be determined. The school students will be available to guide you to your flag. The field will be open May 18-20, 2012 to walk through with your family day or night. This is a free community event. You can sponsor, own, take home and fly proudly your own flag for $36 to pick up on May 20 from 6-8 pm or have one delivered to you or your honoree for $45. Donations are always welcome. We will also have a corner designated as "Operation Soldier" for flags purchased in honor of our troops that we will send overseas. Our closing and community picnic will be held May 20 at 1:00.
