NO AMBER ALERT: Official Press Release from St. Mary's Sheriffs

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is receiving numerous inquires regarding an Amber Alert supposedly issued for a 16-year-old female from Great Mills, who was reported missing on Monday, Nov. 3.  An Amber Alert was never issued by the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and the young lady returned home safely on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Apparently, a concerned citizen commenced a massive email effort which distributed misinformation about the young lady and the issuance of an Amber Alert with respect to her situation.  The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office would like to quell the rumor.  Again, the young lady safely returned home on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Sheriff Cameron would like to advise the public should an official Amber Alert ever be issued for a critical missing child,  a formal press release will also be issued from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office requesting the public’s assistance in locating the child. 

Although the individual who started the massive email may have had good intentions, the misinformation is causing undue public concern.  Please make every effort to dispel this rumor.  Should members of the public receive this mistaken email, please do not forward it. 

Contrary to circulated emails, there is no amber alert for the 16-year-old, Shelby Iagnemmo.

The child went missing on Monday, but was found unharmed on Tuesday afternoon. There have been massive email circulations throughout Southern Maryland and on PAXNAS about the alert.

However, communications with St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department indicated that an official amber alert had not been issued and the child has been found unharmed.

Hummmm,
Would this be a teenager thinking they can do what ever they want AGAIN. With out thinking of what they put there parents through.

Teens these days..
She's probably one of those spoiled little girl who got mad at mom and dad for some petty BS. Teens these days act like they rule the world. Really they just need to be smacked!

Really. I must need new glasses, because after reading the article above I saw nothing that even implied the issues being what hacking-decker are writing about.

Then again maybe the hackgirl and the deck-her have personal issues and they are crying for help?

Does anybody think there may have been nothing sinister about the whole thing? Maybe Mom and/or Dad forgot she was spending the night with her girlfriend? After all, it wasn't a school night, what with the election and all.

Don't wear rose colored glasses.
Did raise 5 kids and realize that communication isn't always perfect in a real family.
