Volunteers Needed to Assist Animals During Disasters

The Charles County Department of Emergency Services' Animal Control Division is looking for volunteers to assist animals when disaster, natural or man-made, strikes Charles County. Volunteers would be trained to work in administrative capacities, rescue efforts, and sheltering. Two orientations will be held at the Charles County Emergency Services Building, 10425 Audie Lane, La Plata, on: - Wednesday, May 27 at 6 p.m. For more information or to volunteer, please contact the Animal Control Division at (301) 609-3425.
