Governor's Cup Home to Some Great Sailing

Over all there were 129 entries in this year’s Governor’s Cup race. The thirty sixth event was hotly contested with only a few boats not finishing the grueling overnight race.

In the nine racing classes, the preliminary race results are these: In the Multihull Class the winning boat was Trinity skippered by David Way. The hotly contested PHRF Classes broke down this way:

PHRF A1 – Won by Blofish, skippered by Daily Tipton, PHRF A2 – Won by Der Baron under San Wagner, PHFR A3 – Won by Kestrel under Albert Holt, PHRF A0 – Sjambok finished first skippered by Michael Brennan, PHRF B – Born2Run under Rick Hanson took first, PHRF C & D – Akoni skippered by John Kriz ended up in first, PHRF Non Spin was won by The Doghouse under Dan Shannon.

Taking the overall PHRF honors over 121 competing boats was Sjambok skippered by Michael Brennan.

After the race, St. Mary’s College of Maryland hosted the annual Governor’s Cup party and racers could finally relax and recover from some very tough racing.
