Hoyer to Attend Topping Off Ceremony for Explosive Development Facility at NSWC
Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) will join Navy leaders and NSWC/Indian Head employees in breaking ground on a new explosive development facility that will accommodate expanded operations in compliance with the 2005 BRAC.
The new facility is part of a plan to consolidate additional energetics analysis, development, testing and manufacturing at Indian Head– a move that will relocate the Division's entire Yorktown (VA) detachment to Charles County, MD. This relocation to the National Center for Energetics will move 40 technician and engineering jobs to NSWC/IH.
The event will take place at the Intersection of Strauss Avenue and North Green Slade Road Indian Head, MD from 10 to 11 a.m.
Talk with Seniors About Impact of New Health Insurance Reform Law
New Law Strengthens Benefits and Extends Medicare Solvency
Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) will meet with seniors at the Richard Clark Senior Center to talk about the newly-enacted health insurance reform law and the benefits for older Americans, including lower costs and strengthened benefits, such as free preventative services and more affordable prescription drugs. The law will also improve Medicare’s solvency by 12 years.
The visit will take place at the Richard Clark Senior Center located at 1210 Charles Street in La Plata from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Hoyer to Attend Groundbreaking for New Dr. J. Patrick Jarboe Medical Center
Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) will attend a groundbreaking ceremony for the Dr. J. Patrick Jarboe Medical Center in California, MD. Once completed, this new center will be the latest investment by the Shah and Associates Medical Group in St. Mary’s County to offer modernized facilities and expanded services to meet the medical needs of area residents.
The groundbreaking will occur at the site of the of new center at 22590 Shady Court, just off of Three Notch Road and across from the Kohl’s Department store. Remarks will immediately follow at the J. T. Daugherty Conference Center, located down the street. The event will take place from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
