On June 15 at about 10:25 p.m., a 54-year-old female was a victim of an armed robbery as she left the Dunkirk Safeway.

The victim advised Calvert County Det. H. Rich of C.I.T. that she pushed her grocery cart to her vehicle which was in the center of the lighted parking lot.  Seconds after placing her purse in her car she was approached by a black male who had a gun in his right hand.  He pointed the weapon at her and instructed her to get the purse from the car or he would shoot her.  The victim complied and the suspect ran in a southeast direction between the Safeway fuel station and the WaWa Convenience store.

The victim was not injured.  Calvert County DFC J. Windsor and his K9 partner (Duke) attempted to track the suspect with negative results.  The suspect is described as a black male, late teens to early 20’s, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall with a thin build.  He has short-cut black hair and a medium complexion.  He was wearing a white T-shirt with bicep length sleeves with some type of black writing and/or emblem.  He also was wearing knee length shorts, possibly with a plaid pattern, tennis shoes and ankle socks.

The suspect was seen getting into a dark sedan which was parked in the WaWa parking lot and this vehicle was last seen traveling south on MD Route 4.   Investigation confirmed that the victim’s stolen credit cards were used to make purchases in Prince George’s County within one hour of the armed robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Steve Jones of C.I.T. at (410) 535-2800, ext. 2462, Sgt. Sciana Roach at ext. 2455 or Det. Rich at ext. 2765.  Callers with information can also contact Crime Solvers at (410) 535-2880 for possible reward.
