Sex Offender Arrest

On January 27, 2011 information was received from the District of Columbia Sex Offender Registry that registered sex offender Jon William Jones, 71 years old, had moved to Lexington Park. Jones failed to register his new address in Maryland per law. An investigation by the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations Sex Offender Unit was conducted.
Jon Jones was located, arrested and taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with failing to register and failing to notify the registry of an address change. Jones is being held without bond pending an appearance before a district court judge.
