Charles Chamber Fires Executive Director McLaren
Charles County, MD - 1/17/2012
Arlene McLaren, who has served as the Executive Director in the Charles County Chamber of Commerce since last summer following Ken Gould’s firing last May, was fired Monday.
A Chamber statement reads, “Effective immediately, Ms. Arlene McLaren has been dismissed from the position of Executive Director of the Charles County Chamber of Commerce, Inc. Details of the dismissal are of an internal employment nature and will not be discussed further.
“The Chamber wishes her the best of luck in her future endeavors. In the interim, the Chamber will look forward to the challenge of finding a suitable replacement as soon as possible.
“The Staff of the Chamber will continue to pursue the policies and procedures of the Chamber under the direction of Chamber President Mr. Carlos Montague and its Board of Directors.”
The decision by the board was unanimous. McLaren is the second person to have served as executive director for the chamber in under a year. Gould was fired last May after serving as the executive director for almost three years.
