UPDATE: Female Found Behind St. Mary's Square, Deceased

Lexington Park, MD - 2/27/2012

On February 27, 2012 at 11:16 A.M. police units responded to the report of a female lying on a path unresponsive to the rear of St. Mary’s Square in Lexington Park, Maryland.  Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to the scene, initiated CPR     and transported the victim to St. Mary’s Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. BCI was contacted and assumed the investigation.

The female was identified as Edwina Denise Fenwick, age 49, of Lexington Park, Maryland. Initial investigation did not reveal any signs of external injuries to Ms. Fenwick.  The body was transported to the Medical Examiners Office in Baltimore where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.

Any updates on this person who passed alone with no one to say a prayer or last rites.
No person should pass without knowing they were loved or a prayer Saddness in my heart and prayers to go out to her loved ones and family.

That's extremely sad; my sincere condolences to the family.

And it's really too bad the local cops are too afraid to go to St. Mary's Square. They could do some real good there.

I love how commenting on the curious absence of police from an area that clearly needs it isn’t even a valid criticism in your eyes…

I'll give you the last word on this one (go ahead, I know you can't resist) but I, out of respect for the deceased, refuse to have the same petty, repetitious argument on this thread.

Buss you could've simply paid your respects and left it at that but it was YOU that threw the dart at the supposedly absent police. The story is tragic but like freefaller stated you never miss a chance to show your hate. Nothing like putting a spin on just about every story by bashing law enforcement. So who's the real piece of work? Of course I had another word in mind but I'll let you figure that one out.

The same ole Bus, hating again. Putting out assumptions and doesn't know the facts like always.

The Square is not missing police at all. Anytime I take a trip down that way I always see a police officer. Hell the last time I did my ride along we cruised around in the square. I always see police near that area. They are not afraid, you're ignorant for stating that. That's what freefaller is talking about. It isn't a valid criticism because I see it and know that you're bull.

To the family of this poor woman, I am truly sorry for your loss. I can't imagine your pain and I hope you can get by the pain.

BUS,
I suggest you attend the COMSTAT meeting that is held every week at the Sheriffs office. It is attended by the command staff at the Sheriffs office. They go over all the crime stats for the previous week and adjust the manpower to deploy them where the crime is occuring.Or, you could stick with your "I just know" theory.

I understand what you're saying but I disagree with you. This is a public website of a news organization. This is a story about an apparent murder in our community. This website is for everyone to make comments and have discussion and even, yes, arguments. This is not a family site and it is not a funeral home website. Those sites are set up for leaving comments and prayers. rest in piece and prays to your family. But I have to say in previous reports that we are overwhelmed with new comers at which raises the crime stats. There has been recent reports that St. Marys county has a shortage of police officers patroling the areas in need. I have also heard they start from the most serious crimes first then report to the next lesser crimes, so its a waiting game, to get to the next report. So all the person above is trying to say is that if there is a high amount of crime in St. Mary's Square, police officers have to be implimented there at all times. Due to the fact that there are alottttttt of homeless people living in the woods there and not to mention there was a robbery at Nicolette park and children for gods sakes go there.I would never allow my child or take my child there at that park there are homeless people all in those woods living. So I agree with the above if he or she would have explained themselves. But I am not a cop hater just a visual person with deep concerns in the Lexington Park/St. Mary's Square area and its surrounding areas, were I know alot of the homeless are living thus more crimes in that area.

Edwina grew up on Rte 489..so she was actually from the area..not a newcomer. St Marys has always had pockets of crime ridden areas..just more noticeable now with media.

You will notice that all the users that posted after The Bus made his statement are the same ones that post after a select group of people they like to call "cop haters". It's fairly obvious that atleast 2 of them have close ties to the police department, so I could see why they would get butt-hurt about a post they think bashes their precious police force.

Fact is, you will hardly EVER see them comment FIRST on a story. Just check any story they have commented in, and you will see that atleast 75% of the time they come into a story, not for the story, but to personally attack another member for thinking differently.

With that being said, my condolences go out to the family!

I'm truly disappointed in you. That is really an idiotic statement. It's difficult to respond to someones comment BEFORE they post it, wouldn't you agree?

I'm sorry that you don't like being labled a cop-hater along with thebus and a few others, but you guys are the ones who keep making the comments. I will keep responding and defending our LEO's.

Next time I'll try and anticipate what you (or your buddies) are going to say and post a response to your comments BEFORE you actually make them. Would that make you happy?

Please, provide a link to where you, Fish, afterlife, etc have been the first to comment on a story and/or make a comment BASED ON THE STORY. Instead, you will probably find that most of your posts involve you guys bashing another person based on their comments on the story.

Don't try twisting this around like you are high and mighty. I could care less what you call me. Doesn't hurt my feeling that some guy behind a computer screen calls me a name. Please post a link and provide details that show how The Bus and myself are "Cop haters". Since we "keep making comments", it should be easy for you. Don't worry, you can still dial 9-1-1 if you ever truly need help. The officers on duty will show up, as they always do. Everyone knows that we can depend on them to show up when they're called. Go ahead and blast them for not being everywhere at everytime. It's what you like to do, on more than one occasion.
