WEATHER ALERT: Red Flag Warning Saturday
WEATHER ALERT: Red Flag Warning Saturday
4/7/2012
Low humidity and high winds have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Red Flag Warning for Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's Counties in Southern Maryland until 8pm EST Saturday night. A Red Flag Warning means "critical fire weather conditions are occuring".
The National Weather Service says warm temperatures, low humidity and strong winds expected today will create "explosive fire growth potential". Sustained Northwest winds from 15-22 miles per hour will continue throughout the day with only 15-25 percent humidity and six percent fuel moisture.
