The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announces that the commercial spiny dogfish fishery is open; anglers without a permit from the National Marine Fisheries Service may catch up to 3,000 pounds of the fish per day from Maryland waters, within three miles of the shore.

The daily limits may be modified or the fishery may be closed if the National Marine Fisheries Service determines the fishery’s quota is reached. Information and regulations are available at hnmfs.noaa.gov/sfa/hms/.
