Basketball Tournament for Education
Great Mills, MD - 5/8/2012
By Nate Atwell
Saturday May 5th, Great Mills High School hosted a basketball tournament put together by non-profit group Basketball 4 L.Y.F.E. The goal of the tournament was to bring together young and old in support of education awareness. Information about post high school options including military, college, and career opportunities were available outside the gymnasium.
Basketball 4 L.Y.F.E. started as a way to get high school basketball players, playing alongside college basketball players in hopes that the interaction will show high school players the benefits of higher education.
Basketball 4 L.Y.F.E. (Love, Youth, Family, and Education) plans to embark on future events, including summer programs, raise money and awareness for the fight against cancer, as well as other programs.
Please check back for future coverage of Basketball 4 L.Y.F.E. events.
