Two Charged With 6 Counts of Burglary

From June 5, 2012 through July 6, 2012 Police units responded to multiple burglaries to residential area sheds in the Hollywood area of St. Mary’s County where power tools, lawn care equipment and other hand tools were stolen.

Based on informational exchanges during weekly CompStat meetings a trend was developed and the cases were assigned to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations for additional investigation.

During the investigation two suspects were identified by detectives leading to the arrest of Michael A. Bassford, age 20 and Crista A. Snyder, age 33, both of Hollywood, Maryland.Bassford and Snyder were each charged with 6 counts of Burglary and 1 count of Theft Scheme over $1,000 but less than $10,000.

Bassford was incarcerated in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center under $50,000 bond. Snyder was incarcerated under a $6,000 bond.

Additional Charges are pending a review by the State’s Attorney’s Office.
