Police Make Quick Arrest in Murder in Brandywine
Brandywine, MD - 7/13/2012
The Prince George’s County Police Department has arrested 57-year-old Francis Washington, Jr., for the murder of 69-year-old Thomas Francis Washington in Brandywine.
On July 12, at approximately 4:32 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 11100 block of Cross Road Trail for a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found the victim inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. The suspect was on scene and taken into custody.
The investigation revealed the incident stemmed from a domestic-related dispute over a spare tire. Francis Washington, Jr. and Thomas Washington were cousins.
Francis Washington, Jr. was arrested and charged with first degree murder. He has been remanded to the Department of Corrections on a no bond status.
