Two Arrested For Sex Offenses Committed Involving A Minor

On August 2, 2012, detectives from the St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Special Victims Unit, initiated an investigation regarding alleged sex offenses committed involving a minor which took place from January 2010 through June 2010. 

The investigation determined Gregory S. Morgan, age 34, of Mechanicsville Md. and Sherry L. Knott, age 32, of no fixed address engaged in various sexual acts with a minor child who was known to the suspects. On August 2, 2012 Knott was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Sex Office, Engaging in a Continuing Course of Conduct over a Period of 90 Days or more with the Victim Being Under 14 Years of Age, Sexual Abuse to a Minor and 4th Degree Sex Offense.  Morgan was arrested on August 3, 2012 and charged with 2nd Degree Rape, 3rd Degree Sex Offense and 4th Degree Sex Offense. Morgan is currently a Tier III Registered Sex Offender.

Knott is currently being held at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center under $5,000 bond.  Morgan is pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

What the heck.....I hope Robbie has the kids...I am freaked out..I never would have thought she would ever do this...not the best mother out there but not the worst either...this puts her right into the worst catagory for sure now...OMG...

Dag, Scotty....
I recall you getting charged and pleading guilty to a similar thing in 2008 or 2009. I didn't think you'd be foolish enough to do something like that again. And under 14??? Dag! Case search says the first time around you got 18 months and work release as part of your plea deal. I don't expect you to get out of jail/prison anytime soon now. Quite frankly, I don't think you deserve to if these charges are true. You'll have your day in court though.

Wrong with her...had a rough childhood. Father passed away when she was just a baby mother was an addict and had some mental health issues and died as a result. Still no excuse for her actions. She does have a low self esteem and some other disabilities..again. no excuse...just don't understand what happened to make her go down the wrong road..

it sounds like something is wrong, according to your list....family history of addiction, mental health issues, low self esteem, and other disabilities...and you're correct, no excuse...take it out on yourself if you dislike yourself. Not someone else...now the victim will be troubled for life....perpetual circle...And with children...it's unfortunate procreation can be, at times, so simple.

SO SAD......
OMG this is so sad! Obviously she has mental issues to allow this. In regards to the remarks made about her mother. Obviously you don't know all the facts. Her mom was a very nice person back in the day, and had a heart of gold. Was a true friend to many, and very well liked. Things went bad for her after the death of Sherry's father. She was pregnant with his 2nd child when he passed away in a tragic car accident that I am personally very knowledgable of. It Was more then she could handle mentally. But she was still a nice person.

Just so happen that i saw this Sherry woman over the weekend in the SMCDC and when asked why she was there it was absolutely amazing how she reacted. She was laughing and smiling saying that she did something really bad and it was no big deal, and it only happend a few times. Unreal, i cannot believe the reaction she had to the situation. This person is not right in the head at all, these poor children, i cannot believe the stuff she told everybody, she came out and said the most horrible things like there was nothing wrong with it. This person needs alot of help. And i hope the kids will get the help they need, there is no excuse for anyone to treat anybody like that. all she tried to do is make everyone feel sorry for her for being in there and how she needed to get out. does this girl not know how much time she is looking at?????

Get judge Stamm
The most you will get if convicted is 18 months in the county jail, with work release. That way the judge makes sure she keeps her kids and her family can visit her locally. Wouldn't want to hurt the child molesters feelings by sending them to a real prison. And they can find more kids while on work release too.

Not have a job....she collects ssdi....she has never worked....so she has no reason to have work release..

no excuses.
i dont really care how hard of a life someone has lived. there are plenty of people that live difficult challenging lives, and they are motivated by them to make themselves a better, functioning, worthful citizen in society. there is no excuse for molesting children. none.

I have known Sherry since she was a little girl.I would love nothing more than for Sherry to get help...mentally. A person need's to have feeling's and the only way she can feel is if a man is having sex with her. That is all she know's. Her mom was the same way. Tracy was a good woman , but could not manage her life. Tracy's life rolled over to her daughter. The out come need's to be for the children, and Becky is carrying Scottie's
s child. That is bullshit. I hope they put him away forever. I hope Sherry learn's how to feel and to love. Every woman need's to feel that.You cannot give love if you don't know how to feel love.
