Senior art show gets official sanction

The Charles County Commissioners attended the Sixteenth Annual Senior Citizens Fine Arts Awards Ceremony held at the Richard R. Clark Senior Center in La Plata on Wednesday, May 16. Over 100 pieces of artwork adorned the walls with everything from oils and acrylics, to needle arts and stained glass. Commissioner President Wayne Cooper (D) was joined by Commissioners Edith J. Patterson (D) and Samuel N. Graves, Jr., to hand out awards to the senior artists. Commissioner Cooper began the ceremony by reading a proclamation declaring May as Older American’s Month in Charles County.
