If the guy didn't stop, or if he was driving irresponsibly, the trooper's car would've been pretty f'd up from the guy's truck. So who do you think srewed up in this crash? The cop [oh no! that's not possible! ;) ] or the guy?

There are a lot of places in the county that do not have safe visibility at the intersection. I know of places that the laws mandate so many feet at a certain angle has to be clear. One of my friends son did a Boy Scout project on base in Japan for that. One weekend they went out and measured and marked obstructions and Public Works came in and removed the trees, bushes, and signs in the way. I know near my house there is a bus stop that blocks visibility down a VERY busy road until you are almost in the roadway. That needs to be addressed for the safety of others. As much as I like the fact that Brusters has gone in and there is another Ice Cream shop I am appalled that the county allowed it to be built where it is. It doesn't have the parking lot to support it and people, including the Sherrif's Dept, have to park on the roadway. I realize that the "newness" will wear off and it will be less busy eventually but it still will be a hazard. A little fore thought and planning ahead around here would be nice.
