On June 17 a description was broadcast for an individual involved in a disturbance at the Chancellor’s Run Apartments.

A short time later, Deputy Nicole Fahey-Chimko spotted an individual, riding a lawn mower, matching the description at the intersection of Great Mills Road and Chancellor’s Run road; a short distance from the reported disturbance.

Deputy Fahey-Chimko contacted the individual, identified as Thomas Leroy Taylor, 49 of Lexington Park.  Deputy Fahey-Chimko detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage upon his breath, slurred speech, red bloodshot eyes and poor balance.

The deputy conducted a field sobriety test and as a result of the test, told Thomas Taylor he was under arrest for driving a motor vehicle under the influence.

Thomas Taylor attempted to flee from the deputy but was caught by the deputy and Trooper Pilkerton.

Taylor physically resisted arrest and had to be subdued, and pepper spray was used.

Search incident to arrest revealed a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana on Taylor’s person.
