Funeral ServiceLife CelebrationDonald Harvey Nolan, Sr., 87, of Mechanicsville, MD, died August 26, 2012 peacefully at his residence. Born January 18, 1925 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Robert Elmer Nolan and Marie Frances Lipphard-Hamby.
He lived in St. Mary's County for 33 years. Don retired as Vice President of IUOE Local 77 after 45 years of service. He was a member of the Collington Masonic Lodge No. 230, a member of York Rite Bodies, and a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
Don was predeceased by his parents, son, Cameron B. Nolan, and siblings, Robert E. Nolan, Marie Cox and Virginia Dickerson.
He is survived by his wife, Grace E. Nolan and children, Donald H. Nolan, Jr. of Hughesville, MD, Michael S. Nolan of Lusby, MD, Timothy W. Nolan of Phoenix, AZ, Kathleen M. Nolan of Mechanicsville, MD and Christopher A. Nolan of Burbank, CA., 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will be held at Brinsfield-Echols on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 10:30a.m. Rev. Joseph Trigg will officiate. Interment will follow at Washington National Cemetery, 4101 Suitland Rd., Suitland, MD.
