What is 4-H? 4-H creates innovative programs that meet the evolving needs of our nation's diverse suburban and urban youth while continuing to fulfill the needs of young citizens in rural America. 4-H involves youth in self-determined, hands-on learning activities such as workforce skills, citizenship, public speaking and other local 4-H program areas. Animal Relief Fund (ARF) will be having a pet adoption every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Well Pet Clinic in Millison Plaza between the old Baskin Robbins and the old K-Mart Cats, kittens, puppies and dogs will be available for adoption. All pets have been spayed or neutered, tested and are current on shots. There s a $100 adoption fee. ARF is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the animals. At the northernmost limits In the United States for the natural range of bald cypress trees, this 100-acre nature sanctuary recalls a time some 100,000 years ago when cypress swamps were common over large parts of the region and now-extinct animals like mammoths roamed the landscape. Directions: On Route 4/2 south of Prince Frederick, turn west on Sixes Road (county 506). From Sixes Road, turn left (south) on Grays Road for 1/10 mile to Cypress Swamp on the right.
