Enjoy an afternoon at Chapman State Park, Aug 5, 1-5 pm. Tour the renovations of historic Mount Aventine. Hear a lecture at 2 pm by Elmer Biles on "The Origins of Religious Freedom In Southern Maryland" as he follows the Religious Freedom Tour trail. At 3 pm "John the Fifer" will by portrayed by John O'Loughlin as he plays Colonial instruments and tells history of music of the times. Take a nature walk to the Potomac River at 4:00. Hosted by Friends of Chapman State Park. The park is at 3452 Ferry Place, off Chapman's Landing Rd, Indian Head. Info at 301-753-6754, www.friendsofchapmansp.org. Donations requested.
