MARYLAND DEFENSE FORCE (MDDF) NEEDS YOU! (1/12/2013)
Since 1917 the MDDF is the volunteer arm of the Maryland Military Department and is establishing a presence in Southern Maryland to support Maryland Air National Guard, Maryland Army National Guard and the Maryland Emergency Management Agency. We are seeking volunteers (Officers and Enlisted Members) from Charles, Calvert and St. Mary's Counties, from all walks of life, to include former members of the US Armed Forces, physicians, nurses, paramedics and EMTs, engineers, lawyers, legal assistants, chaplains, and any qualified Marylanders between the ages of 17 - 65 wanting to train and serve their communities in times of emergency while in uniform. An informational recruiting session is scheduled at the La Plata National Guard Armory, 14 W. Hawthorne Drive (just off US RT 301), La Plata, MD, Saturday, January 12, 2012 from 10am - 12pm.
