SMCPS Presents its State of the Schools Address to the County

On Wednesday, Nov. 18 in the J.T. Daugherty Conference Center, St. Mary's County Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Michael J. Martirano presented his annual State of the Schools address. In his remarks, Martirano cheerfully discussed the steady improvements by students and staff.

Park Hall ES Takes to the Road - Fun for Everyone!

Park Hall Elementary Staff visited the Park Hall Community during their first annual 'Storybook Character Bus Ride' on Friday, Oct. 30. On this day, teachers and staff members dressed up as storybook characters discussed during reading time in school and visited their students' neighborhoods.

Cheering Their Way to the Top

On Tuesday, Nov 9, the top nine schools in the South Region converged for a spirited and wildly cheerful battle at North Point High School for the Maryland State Regional Finals. Schools representing Anne Arundel, Howard, Charles and St. Mary's Counties showed up and battled hard for four spots.

Evergreen Elementary School Set's the Bar for School Construction

During the Nov. 3, dedication ceremony for Evergreen Elementary School, the United States Green Building Council recognized St. Mary's County Public Schools for their outstanding achievement in designing and building Evergreen Elementary School.

Student Arrested for Assaulting School Bus Driver

On Nov. 4, Charles County Sheriff's officers charged a 17-year-old male in connection with an assault that occurred Oct. 21 in the parking lot of North Point High School.
