Pax River Raiders Cheer and Contact Camp

Last week St. Mary's Ryken Stadium hosted a grand event for Raider Nation. Raider spirit filled the air for four straight days. Kids ages 5 to 14 beat the heat to learn the fundamentals of football and cheerleading.

NFL Flag Football: Opening Day 4/2/11

Saturday was a beautiful day. All of the kids seemed very excited to begin the spring season. As you looked around the playing fields, all you saw were smiles. The sound of the kids' laughter, parents' cheers, and coaches' calls filled the air. It was truly inspiring.

Byrd's Eye View On Youth Sports

I am starting a Sports column (Byrd's Eye View On Youth Sports). Every day I post police reports of juvenilles getting arrested. It is time for someone in the area to start promoting positive activities for these kids to turn to rather than crime.

Pax River Raiders Youth Football and Cheer League

The Pax River Raiders enters it's 6th year as an independent Football and Cheer Club for the 2011 season. With 18 Football teams and 6 Cheer Squads in 2010, the Pax River Raiders looks to continue it's success by participating in a National Weight/Age Chart with AYF (American Youth Football).
