Penny wars go to help homeless animals

Students at Mother Catherine Spalding School in Helen turned penny wars into a contribution to help homeless animals. The result was $176.50 raised during Lent and contributed to Second Hope Rescue, a local non-profit animal welfare organization that rescues and finds new homes for dogs and cats.

School board okays accelerating Spring Ridge plans
