Protesters to Attend Trooper 2 Victim's Funeral

Protesters plan to picket the funeral of the paramedic killed in the Trooper 2 crash on Saturday, Oct. 4, at North Point High School, 2500 Davis Road in Waldorf, from 8 to 9:15 a.m.

Members of the group, God Hates Fags, reportedly protest at various activities in order to call attention to the fact that events like war, abortion, plane crashes and homosexuality indicate that God is angry with his people, including those living in Maryland.

In reference to the deaths of police and a paramedic in the Trooper 2 crash, the group’s Web site indicates members believe that "God Hates Maryland and just keeps dashing their inhabitants to pieces in various and interesting ways. Why? They prosecuted and persecuted his servants. You would protect your servants, wouldn't you? Especially, if they were also considered your children and joint heirs."

Information on the Web site also indicates the protest at the paramedic Tanya Mallard's funeral is not personal. Protesters are simply angry that God is killing his people.

The Charles County Sheriff's Office is aware of the protest. "We will be present to ensure the public's safety," said spokesperson Kristen Timko.

The group has also reported it will hold a protest at the funeral for State Police pilot Stephen J. Bunker on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the South Potomac Church in White Plains.

This was a tragic accident.......get it......accident. Have some remorse for those killed in this accident. God does not hate anyone! I can't believe what this world is coming to! Rediculous!

Just heard back from the PGR. They have to be invited by the family in order to avoid being counter-protestors. Does anyone have any ties to the family? The PGR will help to block the view of the protestors in a very fitting way, but must be invited. Otherwise, the MSP and CCSO will handle the matter as they have done before. May these heroes rest in peace.

these people need to stop and think about what they are getting ready to do. this girl and the troopers that died were trying to say 2 lives. they died doing that. coming from someone that is in a rescue squad my heart stopped for a second when i heard about this. we work hand and hand with MSP. and for some dum azz group to go out and protest in front of this girls funeral is un just and called for. the FAMILY LOST A LOVE ONE DOING WHAT SHE THOUGHT WAS RIGHT WITH OUT THINKING TWICE. I WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME. and for this group to say god hates us. what do they do go to heaven everyday and speak to god or does he give them a phone call? let the PATRIOT GUARD come up and block these people out. atleast they have a heart and are will to let the family grieve in peace. i would like to seee these protestor come to my funeral and try this i don't think they would be leaving the same way they got there if you all know what i mean.

How do they know what God thinks?
I've always been leary of people who know the will of God. Seems a little arrogant, doesn't it? Perhaps their Bibles were missing the Gospel chapters that show God as a loving, forgiving God. Well, I'm not God, but I despise these monsters and wish them all the worst. If I had the time and funding to do whatever I want as they apparently do, I'd protest at the funerals of their friends and relatives. What makes these people any different from any other hate groups? NOTHING!

To say God hates a particular group or that he hates a state seems very wrong. God created the earth and all things that live upon it. Is there any where in the bible where it says that "God hates"? These people can't be a Christian organization because Jesus certianly never hated anyone not even those who crucified him.

Not a real Church
These people come from the Rev. Phelps "church", which is in the midwest. His "church" consists of his family members and no one else. His 'church" is not recognized as a real Church and has been protesting at funerals of fallen soldiers also. The man, and his "church" are hated all over the country. One day, someone is going to take great offense and beat the crap out of these people, and I hope I am standing around to witness it! The daughter to the sick man running the "church" is a lawyer and sues anyone who comes near them or tries to stop them from protesting. These are a bunch of sick individuals who have no life and get their kicks from watching people suffer!

They're freaking idiots. They say she worked for the Maryland State Police. No, she didn't. She was a VOLUNTEER EMT-B for the WALDORF VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT AND RESCUE SQUAD. The only person that worked officially for the MSP was Mickey Lippy. Before these moronic idiots get their panties in a bunch, they should read up on their facts. COMPASSION PEOPLE
These people were doing what they could to save a life, isn't that what GOD said we should do? We as Volunteer Fire and Rescue put others before our selves. These people are Hero's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let them and their families rest in peace. If something was to happen to one of these protesters, wouldn't they want the same help? Something for them to think about!!!!

After 20 years in the Military you come to understand that we fight for our country so that idiots like this can stand outside and protest. I say let them because they want to show the rest of the world what idiots they truely are. I just hope that none of them NEVER need any type of Medical treatment, or a lifeflight because they were in an accident. That means that they never fly and only drive. Face reality people Airplanes crash because Landing is not Optional. Taking off in a plane is optional but gravity works well here on Earth. If we didn't have WAR then our country would not have the freedoms that we have today. So if you want to stand up and protest then stand the watch and fight for our country and its freedom's if not then sit down and read the newspapers, watch CNN, or protest something worthwhile but to protest at someones funeral who was serving you as a citizen who put their life on the line for you. Remember the next time you need a Doctor and wonder if they flew to get there. Wonder the next time your at the Doctors office how they recieved there medical training, and how many live participants willingly laid down on a table so that they could cut them open to learn what the inside of a human looked like to treat you.

Demonstration
I think it quite prudent that to balance safety and security, and the risk to terrorist or criminal targetting or surveillance of law enforcement officers and their families, that the state attorney general mandate a two mile radius from the perimeter of the cemetary as off limits to any public demonstrations. That this also be aggressively enforced and arrests made where prudent. It is interesting that not one soul protests the murders of police officers, only their effectiveness when they are making arrests and confronting law breaking. I call on the state government to legislate these people as far away as possible so people of honor can mourn those fallen during execution of that honor. It's time for the heretofore risk averse, zero-defect, politically apologetic leadership of law enforcement agencies to stand tall and say enough is enough, we will bury our dead with dignity and respect and no one, not one soul will interrupt or taint that day.

These protesters need to go and do their good deed where it will mean the most to them, say Irac? From what I understand of this so called church, this is a hateful family and should be sued for impersonating a church of God. There is a time and place for everything, but not at a funeral. Not when family and loved ones are at their most vulnerable. If possible, I would recommend every loving citizen attend this funeral. If enough people surround the perimeter, these scums will not be able to get within miles of the funeral home or gravesite. My heart goes out to the families who will bury their loved ones this weekend.

EMT-B Mallard
I was remiss in not including her in my last post. This young lady died doing what others should emulate, and that is selfless service, putting other before self. She lost her life doing this gig. She is a sister of the highest order, a lady amongst women, a citizen of esteemed accomplishment. This young lady, although not a certified police officer was indeed and in heart one of us. This is an example of what it took for us to become Americans and how we treat one another will either be our resurrection or our un-doing. America, wake up, wake up.

Innundating these sick people with e-mails will do no good. The article states the police are aware of the plans and will be there. I have also written to the Maryland State Captain of the Patriot Guard Riders for their help. This is the kind of stuff they specialize in. If you see them there, tell them I said thank you!

Got a message back from the PGR. Here is the quote from the Maryland Captain. Heed his advice in memory of Tonya. "If invited to do so by the family, the Patriot Guard will be in attendance to honor this young hero. It is not our mission to be the "Anti-Westboro Baptist Church" counter protesters, and don't just appear at a funeral without permission, but we do feel for the families at times like these, and if invited, will have a wall of flags blocking the family's view of these uninvited guests. If we show up uninvited, we then become counter protesters and further disrespect the memory of this young lady. Law enforcement all over the state of Maryland has seen this type of protest and know how to handle it best. An angry mob that forms out of righteous indignation over these folks just adds to the overall chaos and are not honoring anyone, especially the family who has just lost a loved one. The best thing we can all do for the family is to ignore the protesters. As soon as you acknowledge them and create a scene, they win." IMO, this would apply to loading them up with e-mails too. You would be giving them the attention they want. The best thing to do is turn your backs on them. Don't give them a second of your valuable time. May all the victims of this tragedy go to their final resting place in peace.

These people are crazy. If they ever came to a funeral of someone in my family, we would make the news and it wouldn't be pretty. Yes, I'm probably just talking because I don't know how I would feel at the time. But just reading about this makes me so angry. It would probably be best not to lower myself to their level and act like the white trash that they are. These people have mental problems and must not have a job or a real life.This is why they travel around and protest. They are probably living off the government teet. They are also the same people who you see standing on the street corner telling everyone the world is going to end the next day.

He is not mad at people who put there lives in danger every day to protect us, or help us and save our lives. This group is made up of idiots.... Cant they just let the The Fallin Of Trooper 2 family and friends greive in peace......also you know they were cops...which means cops will be attending ther funeral.....and im going to laugh at the protesters when they get locked up... and there paper work suddenly gets lost....

Ignore their Ignorance
These people want confrontation, they want to stir up hatred, and they want to have reason to engage in verbal warfare. That is what they thrive on. My thought is that they don't even deserve to be acknowledged. They are so far out there, their messages are utterly ridiculous. Don't let them stir up more hate. Maybe pity them for being so horribly misled. And definitely a bad idea to protest the protesters - the families of the heros who died don't need 'two' angry mobs. Rest in Peace fallen heros.

I can't believe...
I just can't wrap my mind around how these people can call themselves a church, and have nerve to say they're doing it in the name of god!?!? I would love to be there the day one of them has to dial 911, and they should be told "Sorry, we'd like to help but GOD hates bigots and heretics..." I mean seriously the people that they are protesting are the same ones they rely on. The only reason these people are alive is because its illegal to kill them. Thanks largely to how "Civilized" we've become.

first off to the family and friends of the ppl who died in this terrible accident i am truly sry for all of ur losses.But as for the protesters coming to this mans funeral, come on what the hell is wrong with ppl? i have been to a few funerals unfortunately in the past few months and there have been a few off the wall things that have happened example, a huge argument grave side while the soldiers were folding the flag, and now to hear there are protesters going to protest at a funeral, get a f n life ppl, this is this familys last moments to ever spend with there loved one why cant u ppl allow them to have there moment im sry but a funeral is not the time or place for ppl to express them selves unless its about the times u had been blessed to spend with ur loved one that is now gone..to make along story short,LEAVE PPL ALONE and FIND SOMETHING else to DO WITH UR SELf.....
