Arson at the White Sands Community Center

The Maryland State Fire Marshall's Southern Regional Office is investigating an arson case is Lusby. On Nov. 26, at 1:24 a.m., a passerby noticed a fire in a building under construction at 902 White Sands Drive in the White Sands neighborhood. The building is the future site of the White Sands Community Center. Firefighters from St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene. No injuries were reported. The estimated loss rings in at $500. Arson has been determined the cause of the blaze. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Deputy State Fire Marshall Jeff Frye at the (443) 550-6832.
