Fatal Pedestrian Accident

On Nov. 25 at 9:43 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Crain Highway at Centennial Street in La Plata, for the report of a motor vehicle collision. Investigation revealed the driver of a Honda Civic was traveling north on Crain Highway approaching Centennial Street, when he struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway, crossing the street. The victim, Robert Samuel Moore, 45 of Waldorf, was flown to Prince George’s Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the car did not sustain any injuries. Officer R.E. Glover Jr., of the Traffic Operations Unit is handling the investigation.
