Wood Frame Dwelling Burns in Chesapeake

The Maryland State Fire Marshal and firefighters from North Beach, Dunkirk and Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a one-story wood frame dwelling ablaze in Chesapeake Beach on Nov. 27, around 3 a.m. A malfunction of an electrical outlet caused the accidental fire that took 40 firemen about 20 minutes to control. The estimated loss of the structure is set at $70 thousand and the contents of the building an additional $30 thousand. The owner was away at the time of the fire, but the family has been displaced as a result of the fire. |
