House Fire Under Investigation

Fire Investigators are looking into the cause of a house fire in Charles County that caused $20,000 in damage.
Firefighters from Bel Alton, Newburg, La Plata and Hughesville responded to the the blaze on Dec. 3 around 2:43 a.m., located at 8558 Cooksey Road in La Plata.
The fire in the one-story wood framed dwelling was discovered by a passerby. It took firefighters about 10 minutes to control the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
