Friday, Dec. 5, the town of Solomons, family and friends celebrated the 24th Annual Christmas Walk. The annual event honors the spirit of the holidays in the quaint Chesapeake Bay village.

Attendees strolled through luminary lit streets while enjoying beautiful holiday decorations and many fun family activities.

The festivities began Friday evening at the Riverwalk gazebo with a visit from Santa. There guests welcomed Santa for carols and a tree lighting ceremony. The evening was filled with special children's activities including the making of toy sail boats, a live puppet show, a live nativity scene, carolers and open houses at many of the businesses.

Festival goers were also able to enjoy the shopping, refreshments, entertainment, fine dining, pet adoptions and the decorations that bring Solomons Island to life for the holidays.

The following day, Saturday, Dec. 6, boaters participated in the Solomons Yacht Club Christmas Light Parade. The Light Parade began at the Solomons Island Yacht Club and could be seen from many of Solomons restaurants.

The weekend concluded with a gala on Sunday, Dec. 7 at the Naughty Gull Restaurant, where everyone enjoyed a festive evening of great food and beverages plus a silent auction.

Attendees of this year's Solomons Christmas Walk can't wait for next year's 25th annual celebration.
