It was a routine stop in the early morning hours of Saturday, Dec. 6. Shortly after 3 a.m., while on routine patrol, Cpl. Cara Grumbles observed and stopped a silver Chevy Tahoe at Three Notch Road, near Blimpies in Lexington Park for operating in a suspicious manner. Grumbles noticed the four occupants of the Tahoe moving around inside prior to and during the stop.

Other deputies arrived on the scene to assist. The driver was identified as Malcolm Omega Reynolds, 27 of Colton’s Point. The deputies investigated further and it was revealed that Reynolds was operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Reynolds was arrested.

At the time of the arrest, a female passenger, identified as Tosha Denise Gallagher, 30 of Fort Meade, became very uncooperative and disorderly. She and the other two passengers were ordered from the vehicle in order to perform a search of the vehicle subsequent to Reynolds’ arrest.

Once outside the vehicle, Gallagher became even more uncooperative and disorderly. Gallagher was arrested for Hindering. The remaining two rear-seat passengers, identified as Jason Earl William-Jones, 27 of Lexington Park and Justin Lemar Hill, 26 of Waldorf, were detained outside the vehicle during the vehicle search.

The search revealed a loaded 12-gauge shotgun and a loaded 9mm pistol within the reach of the occupants of the vehicle.

When the weapons were found, the deputies contacted the Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Vice / Narcotics division. At that time, because of the weapons, Assistant States Attorney Daniel White was contacted and apprised of the situation.

White responded to the scene. At that point, around 4 a.m., the firearms were seized, the vehicle was stored and all four occupants were arrested.

The suspects were charged as follows: Reynolds: driving under the influence of alcohol, handgun in vehicle, illegal possession of regulated firearm and two counts for concealed weapons. 

Gallagher was charged with: hindering, failure to obey lawful order, handgun in vehicle, and two counts for concealed weapons.  Jones was charged with: illegal possession of regulated firearm, handgun in vehicle, and two counts for concealed weapons.  Hill was charged with: illegal possession of regulated firearm, handgun in vehicle and two counts for concealed weapons.
