UPDATE: Death Investigation on St. Andrews Church Road

Update 12:25 p.m.

Preliminary reports indicate that the deceased victim may have dug his own grave before committing the act of suicide. Officials will not confirm this information at this time due to it being evidence in the investigation.
Update 11:15 a.m.

A fatality has been confirmed. This incident is being investigated as a possible suicide.

More details to follow as they become available...

 

Maryland State Police are investigating an incident in the surrounding area of the 44000 block of St. Andrews Church Road, northeast of Indian Bridge Road. Crime scene tape has been put to keep people from the area of the active investigation.

St. Andrews Episcopal Church and Pre-school are in the vicinity of the investigation.

TBN has a crew on the scene and will bring you updates as they become available...

If it was suicide then the situation wouldn't be 'dangerous' (the crazy would be dead now, right?), lol... I'm thinking it's more probable that it was a domestic dispute that got a LOT worse when the cops showed up. Just a guess.

You guys take people way too seriously and are offended way too easily... I was just making light of the fact that a dead person can't possibly be dangerous... that's all.

And I guess, next time I'll use the term 'mentally afflicted', maybe it wont rifle as many feathers.

I was there today, not a domestic dispute that got out of control when cops showed up. Poor man shot him self wednesday night or early thursday morning.

You tried to be funny and cute and failed miserably. It's not about getting thicker skin, it about not being a disrespectful jacka**. Most people are sensetive, rightfully so, when it comes to death and usually don't crack jokes (very bad ones at that) within hours after someone has died, especially in a way that seems very tragic.

First I want to give my condolences to the family of the deceased. It's never a good time to lose somebody, and this time of year should be filled with happy memories, not the feeling of loss.

In defense of the person who can no longer speak for himself (and his family), I must continue with a few thoughts for kitkat70, since she obviously isn't capable of generating her own.

#1 - to make the kind of remark you made about the unfortunate person who is no longer with us is about the lowest vile comment I have ever read in my life.

#2 - to follow that up with a back-handed comment about the police presence making this person do what they did just shows the type of low-life you are.

On that note, my questions to you are: When did you and your twin sister get out of jail? And are the sores healing up yet?

How's that "thick skin" thing working for you now?

Your completely entitled to your opinions however i think you miss-read what i said about 'police presence'. My guess as to what was happening (which i posted before the update confirming it was suicide) did not say "the police made him do it"... It was hinting moreso at the possibility that the 'dangerous' situation arose simply because this person had already done something that is jail-worthy and was hauled up somewhere resisting the inevitable (that being jail not suicide)... But my assumption was wrong so it really doesn't matter anymore, does it?

And i seriously doubt my 'crazy' comment is the worst you've ever seen/heard.

Quite frankly, if this person was desperate enough to commit suicide then they were not in their right mind (or maybe they were, how do we know?). So, i don't really see how the term 'crazy' is inappropriate, considering that's were his 'depression' (if that was even the cause) drove him to.

Imagine the person in this story is a family member or dear friend and then re-read your first comment. You don't think that it was inappropriate?

We have a suicide hotline in St. Mary's. I suggest you go in and volunteer to listen to a licensed counselor help people with suicidal thoughts. Maybe then you can learn what compassion is all about. You don't have to be "crazy" to end your life. The holidays can be especially hard on those that are already struggling with day to day life.

What a sad commentary KitKat70
This man was co-worker of mine. Gentle, smart, funny, devoted father and husband. He was a top flight computer programmer and he had worked on our data base for years. He was damn good at his job. Your sadistic attempt at humor is second only to your callus attitude toward another human being who for what ever reason felt it was necessary to end his life. I grieve for "him" and pity you.

I am so glad we can even have this discussion without TBN deleting comments. Even ridiculous comments have a right to be heard.

However, my heart and prayers go out to the family of the deceased. NO ONE... repeat...NO ONE takes this drastic step without other issues at play. We don't know what was in this person's heart and soul. We don't know his (or her) bank balance or his job history. We don't know whether he or she lost custody of kids or felt no other options were available.

Kindness and prayers are what is needed now. Let's stop pinging on the one poster who lacked compassion and focus on the family of someone so distraught he/she found no way out except for suicide. This is so tragic.

As one who has felt at one point that I had no options, the depths of despair cannot be fathomed by those who have not been there. Do not just. Just pray.

And, for the rest of you...there are brighter days ahead...

This whole situation disturbs me. Not the comments so much but the suicide thing. I was a young child when my father committed suicide. 22 years later I still don't understand how someone could leave there children, family, life in such a way that there is no getting over. Three suicides in my immediate family. Very disturbing!! I feel for the family in this ordeal on a personal level, the pain never goes away!

This man was my uncle. I loved him. We are all in pain and trying to cope, and we appreciate those of you who have given us your thoughts and prayers. I ask on behalf of my entire family that no more comments are written criticizing his choices, or that are negative towards our recent tragedy. Although you may not agree, these comments are hurtful and frankly uncalled for at this time. Thank you for your consideration. And thank you again to those that have offered their condolences and/or our friends that have shown support.

The family and friends of this man are in our hearts, prayers and thoughts. Sometimes we all do things in our lives without thinking about how it might hurt the other people in our lives. I have lost people in my life to suicide and know the pain it leaves with us. But, try to remember the good memories.

Your Uncle was a close friend of mine. He was one of the most interesting people to talk to that I've ever met. He was tenderhearted and understanding. Remarkably intelligent and well-read. But I'm sure you know all that. It will be difficult, but we need to get past all of the knee-jerk reactions to what he did. All of the stereotypes. He was not a selfish person, and loved his family, especially his son, very much. He had to have been in a state of mind that just launched him beyond all that he knows and loves to his moment of desperation. My love and prayers go out to you and all of his family. All of his friends, especially those of us who are used to seeing his smile every day, will miss him terribly much.

I think it is so sad that people are so cold hearted that they turn this into a fight over words. What has happened to this area? A man who was someone's husband, father, son, uncle, etc. found life so sad and disturbing that he took his own life. And, SOMD people are using this forum to fire nasty remarks. Can we just please send our condolences to the family who love this person and drop all of the nastiness.....til the season of peace on earth after all.
