Fire officials are investigating a two-alarm fire that engulfed three mobile homes in the Christmas Tree Trailer Park in Leonardtown on Dec. 31.

The fire broke out around 1:32 a.m., in the 22000 block of Cartwright Road. The occupant of one of the mobile homes discovered the blaze and was able safely evacuate the home.

Fifty firefighters from Leonardtown, Hollywood, Valley Lee, Bay District and Avenue all helped to battle the blaze. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The cause of the fire appears to be accidental. The fire was attributed to a woodstove.

Damage to all three homes rings in at $30,000.

No injuries were reported.
