The Charles County Sheriff’s Office arrested Anthony Hansley, 18, of White Plains, charging him with second-degree rape and second-degree assault in connection with a sexual assault that occurred on Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. at Henry Lackey High School located at 3000 Chicamuxen Road in Indian Head.            
                                                                                                                              
Investigation revealed the victim was at the school for an after-school activity when the suspect (a former friend and current student) approached. As the two talked, the suspect said he forgot something in another classroom and asked the victim to accompany him. While they were walking down a hallway, the suspect grabbed the victim, forced her into an empty classroom and sexually assaulted her. After the assault, the suspect left the room.

The victim went home and reported the incident to her parents who then notified police. Detectives initiated an investigation and arrested the suspect this morning. He was charged with second-degree rape and second-degree assault and remanded to the Charles County Detention Center with a $150,000 bond.

The investigation is continuing.
