Calvert County Cpl. Richard Wilson responded to a motor vehicle crash on Adelina Road between Sandy Point Road and Sixes Road in Prince Frederick on Feb. 27 at 1 a.m. He observed a 2004 Jeep Cherokee overturned in the middle of the roadway. The vehicle had been heading southbound on Adelina Road when it swerved into the northbound lane and then back into the southbound lane, striking a guardrail and overturning, coming to rest in both lanes.

The driver of the vehicle had fled the scene. Wilson located the driver, later identified as Josephine Hall Virgin, 21 of Prince Frederick, at her home after a friend of Virgin’s had driven her there after the crash. Virgin refused medical treatment.

Inside her vehicle, police located suspected marijuana. Virgin was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and possession of marijuana and use of drug paraphernalia, two cigar tubes used to store marijuana.
