UPDATE: Lusby Schools Back to Normal Operation; Investigation Continues

UPDATE June 11 11:40 a.m.
Law enforcement continues to investigate the armed robbery in the Olivet/Joy Rd area of Lusby.

All schools have discontinued partial lockdown at the recommendation of law enforcement but continue to be vigilant. Schools have returned to normal operations. All transportation will run on a normal schedule.


UPDATE June 11 10 a.m.

An unknown black male, wearing a heavy coat and a red bandana over his face approached a woman on Joy Road in Lusby this morning at gunpoint and fled on foot in an unknown direction.  It is unknown at this time if he made off with any property.  Police are on the scene attempting to locate the suspect. 

The southern area schools that are on partial lock-down include Patuxent High School, Mill Creek Middle School, Southern Middle School, Appeal Elementary, Dowell Elementary and Patuxent Elementary.

More information will be made available as it is known.


An armed robbery occurred this morning, Thursday, June 11 shortly after 9 a.m. in the Olivet Road area of Lusby.

The suspect is on foot and should be considered armed and dangerous. Schools in this area have been alerted and will be on a partial lock down until further notice. We are receiving updates through Law Enforcement and will continue to monitor this situation.
