Detectives Make Tackle Box Burglary Arrest

LEXINGTON PARK - 6/12/2009

On June 11, at approximately 6 p.m., St. Mary’s County BCI detectives conducted a search and seizure warrant in Lexington Park, with the assistance of the St. Mary’s and Calvert County Sheriff’s Emergency Services Teams.

The weapons stolen in the June 9, burglary of the Tackle Box Store were recovered and Robert D. McCarson, 21 years of age, with no fixed address, was arrested.

He was charged with burglary, theft over $500 and malicious property destruction Over $500. He was incarcerated at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.

This investigation is continuing.

Tackle Box is a joke
Hey Tackle Box, start locking up your overpriced junk. You have been broken into so many times, that you should be charged with negligence and have some responsibility in that young mans death that happened a year or so ago due to one of your guns being stolen. I'm not anti-gun, I'm anti Tackle Box. Not sure how that family sleeps at night knowing they make their living by ripping off fellow citizens and being totally irresponsible with their dangerous goods that they sell.

Its not the stores fault that he broke in, the store is locked up for a reason but this dumb* wanted to break in and steal instead of getting a job and buying stuff honestly. You're definitley a tool. Why do they have guards 24/7 on military bases and not just a locked door and a cheesy alarm system? Here's the answer genius, because of the amount of harm that could be caused if the commodities got into the wrong hands. Tackle Box is not the same as Payless Shoe Store wonder boy, it sells guns and ammo which should be guarded by something other than what they currently use. Whatever they use gets bypassed atleast once a year and has contributed to atleast one murder. That is called irresposibility and you are a hillbilly. Much like if you kept your favorite overalls on your front porch and someone stole them everyday, you would be called irresponsible for not putting them in your trailer. That doesnt mean the feller that stole them is innocent, just means you're a dummy and you deserve to go back to Wal-Mart and get new overalls. Kapeesh Jethro?

The whole point to the Tackle Box being broken into so many times needs to be addressed... whether someone was murdered with a stolen weapon or not. Thank you to the Base for allowing so many kids to enroll in the county. I wouldn't have a job if it wasn't for them. I agree with the welfare comment (although it's not Obamas' fault... and no, I didn't vote for him), and there's a difference between someone NEEDING welfare and someone TAKING ADVANTAGE of welfare. There needs to be a test before someone is allowed to have a child.

lexington park has gotten bad with crime but in a way thuggin has a point that tackle box is always getting broke in to. theres got to be some better way for them to protect the store but it doesnt mean people should be breaking into stealing the guns and by no way is it tackle boxes fault of people being stupid. to tomf44 i get that alot of people abuse the welfare but there are some people who do really need the help espically right now and they usually put you in lexington park area for section 8 few other places except it. before you try saying that i must be on welfare im not.

the only reason the over priced tackle box gets robbed so much is the location of which it resides. lexington park is a sht hole and all the ghetto hood-rats and welfare recipients are within walking distance. as long as the gov checks keep on flowing in they will never.....ah he** with it, this is could go on forever....

Tackle box needs to take some responsibility
The Tackle Box is notorious for break ins. Ya think they might lock up the guns and put a better security system in. I mean only ONE person has been killed with one of their stolen guns. They should show a little more responsibility with how they secure the place. Maybe the ATF should look at how they manage their guns....

I happen to know this person personally, and y everyone on here is talking sht, he was not alone in this crime...the other dumb turnt himself in yesterday afternoon. Y any one in this article is talking about welfare? The person(s) who committed this crime are not on welfare, their in jail.I think tackle box needs to wake up. Crime is getting worse everyday and it all has to do with our economy. I don' see how this is the tackle box's fault. They have a gate lock on the door and still lowlifes find a way in. Maybe they're only sin is not putting someone in there all night with a gun and use that type of security. The owners are good Christian people who don't deserve the garbage the have to take from lowlifes.

Cast the Blame Where it Belongs!
First off let me start by saying to those of you who know these individuals they make there own choices in life! Right Choice or Wrong Choice they are there choices. Therefore it is THERE OWN FAULTS not the business's that get broken into. The Tackle Box has been around for years and have a secure building it is not there fault people choose to steal, shoot and live there life in sin. Those of you casting blame on the business itself must be extremely uneducated people or just as much sinners as the ones in this article. So the ones who want to cast the blame on someone else other then the people who did the crime I really wish it would have been your house, your car your loved one shot by people like this. Keep the VICTIMS out of this it is not there faults at all, they didn't make the choice to have there LOCKED business, LOCKED car or for that matter there life taken away from them. This economy is going down hill from the criminals that want to stick up for the rest of the criminals.
