The Fourth of July celebrations began early for the Golden Beach community. Each year the neighborhood's Civic Association puts on a fantastic fireworks display, this year was no different from the rest. Over a thousand people came out to enjoy the patriotic event.

The day began with a parade at 11 a.m. which lined up at Beach Drive and Golden Beach Road. There were items for sale along the route and afterward those in attendance could join in on the festivities offered at the pavilion from 12 to 2 p.m. Food and trophy's were given to those who participated in the parade.

This year's fireworks cost between $4,000 and $10,000. The Civic Association is made up from volunteers in the community. They give back to the Golden Beach community by holding funding raising events to help pay for the fireworks.  There was a silent auction and donations were accepted by those in attendance.
