SMTMD Closes Season with Great Concert

Southern Maryland Traditional Music and Dance HomeSpun CoffeeHouse featured three local bands for the season finale on July 24 at Christ Church Parish Hall on Zach Fowler Road in Chaptico. Local Bands featured were The Piney Point Playboys, Annie Jean DiDonoto, Brenda Elwood, Ray Raley, Larry O'Brien and Joe Gardner; Fortunes Turn with Bob Augustine, Greg Penk, Curt and Juliane Moss; and The Hamm It Ups with Ray and Mary-Lynn Hammett, Jeff Bowles and a special guest appearance by Eric Hammett.
SMTMD will resume their activities in September with the next Concert scheduled for Friday September 25. Details to be announced as the date approaches. The SMTMD Contra Dances will resume on the second Saturday of every month at the Christ Church Parish Hall in Chaptico. Live music is provided by The Open Band for the first Contra Dance of the new season on Saturday September 12. The next Open Mic is scheduled for October 23. Doors open for all these events at 7 p.m. with the music and dancing starting at 730 p.m.
