Single Vehicle Rollover Sends One to PG Shock Trauma

At approximately 4 p.m. on July 28, authorities responded to the area of 42471 Medleys Neck Road in Medleys Neck for a reported single vehicle accident and rollover. When first responders arrived they encountered a single vehicle that had lost control, left the roadway and sheared off a utility pole.

The crash victim had apparently been thrown from the vehicle during the crash. The patient was airlifted to PG Shock Trauma by Trooper 7. Authorities reported that the gas tank of the crashed vehicle was leaking and had to perform clean up operations. SMECO was called to replace the sheared utility pole.

No other information is available at this time.

OMG
Looked like the driver turned the car into a chain saw, cut the pole right off! I hope the driver is okay and luckily did not hurt anyone else while they were driving too fast or too negligent to maneuver thier vehicle properly. And thank the Baynet for being right there to take the gorry pictures.

Wow.
I wonder if it was worth it. Driving fast and reckless may seem fun at first, but when you see the results all I ask is; was it worth it?

Are you all reading an invisible paragraph where it states that the driver was negligent or reckless in any manner? Or is this just an opinion on your part?

I know that deer are out in droves lately and we don't know the entire story about what exactly caused this accident. Could have been an aneurism or heart attack, seizure, etc.

The point is we don't know the whole story. The only "fault" that I can see mentioned in the article is that the victim was "thrown" from the vehicle which leads me to believe that they were not using their seat belt.

Learn from others mistakes
Broad daylight...a straight road...no rain...no traffic.

Medical emergency? Catastrophic failure of the car? Inattention to driving?

RARELY does a person get ejected from their vehicle...unless they are NOT wearing a seat belt.

This road has NO shoulders and needs full driver attention at all times.

Hope they pull through. What a shame to see such a nice ride destroyed.

the true story
the driver is ok thats what matters, he silmpy fell asleep at th wheel on his way home he is my closes friend an also my boyfriend.if he was wearing his seat belt brandon would of died. this reminds you how to drive safe all the time.

That is exactly the point I was trying to make. Some just "assume" that it was negligence or drunk driving or the like. After all, that is much more gossip worthy than a medical condition (or in this case, falling asleep).

Thank God he is OK, in the end that is what matters most. I hope his injuries (if he has any) heal quickly and with as little pain as possible.

Asleep at the wheel...
It was my complete opinion, which everyone is entitled. So I wonder out of all of the rollovers lately, how many have been attributed to being asleep at the wheel?

But, to be completely honest, I have ALMOST fell asleep at the wheel. It was many years ago and I was working two jobs (shift work at one) and came VERY close. I could barely keep my eyes open. Every time I blinked, it became harder and harder to re-open my eyes. I did everything to stay awake until I hit my driveway. It scared me half to death.

Thank Goodness this story turned out well.

brandon worked hard all day an bearly got any sleep for weeks. sometimes these happen but he is ok with no broken bones only bumbs an bruises.

...or non-seatbelt blessing...I am a big advocate on seatbelts, however this is the miracle story that Brandon was not seatbelted. As I read the story before seeing Brandon's girlfriends explanation I had thought, there is no way this person will survive after looking at the car pics.

People do rush to judge and make the story sound"exciting." This is what the 20th century has taught us. I only wish the news would tone down and be more considerate as it did 30 years ago. Its not a wonder why so many people are stressed only to find out the stories were not quite as told, but the anxiety has already hit by then.
