UPDATE: Armed Robbery at BP Gas Station in Waldorf

WALDORF - 8/14/2009

Charles County Sheriff Rex W. Coffey announced the arrest of William Pervis Savage, Jr., 25, of Waldorf, who was charged in connection with the July 29 armed robbery of the BP gas station at 2050 Crain Highway in Waldorf.

Detectives in the Major Crimes Unit developed Savage as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant charging him with armed robbery, first-degree assault, and second-degree assault. Savage was located on Aug. 11 at his residence on Council Oak Drive.

A search warrant was conducted and officers recovered several items of evidence related to the robbery. The Major Crimes Unit is continuing their investigation.

On July 29, at 10:20 a.m., officers responded to the BP gas station at 2050 Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery.

Investigation revealed the suspect approached an employee, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspect fled. No one was injured. The Major Crimes Unit is investigating.

Waldorf is Off the chain!!! All you read or hear is BAD news in Waldorf. Ya'll just stay in Charles Co. because St. Mary's has there own misfits to deal with.

You cannot, in any way, make comparisons between Waldorf and St. Marys county. Where do you think all of the drugs come from down here? Just north of us.. Waldorf. If you want to make a comparison, try SE D.C. and Waldorf or PG County and Waldorf. It sucks for Chuck Co.'s rep too because there are nice parts like LaPlata (mostly). I dont know where you live in SMC but you must be in a different box than everyone else. I am not saying SMC does not have its fair share of problems, but none to the extent of Waldorf. What a sh** hole.

Uh...I disagree completely....while there is more activity in Waldorf as a whole, it is not far fetched to "compare" certain areas of St. Marys to Waldorf. For example store break ins, dead bodies found in the woods, people robbed in parking lots, people abducted and raped...all this in your beloved St. Mary's County....and where there are drugs there is crime, doesnt matter "where" you think the drugs come from

You are a retard. Go stand on the corner in Waldorf for one night and see if you make it back with everything the next day. I dont even care which corner.. pick one! Do the same thing anywhere in St. Marys county and your chances are already improved by a large %. The amount of stuff that happens in SMC is small scale compared to Waldorf. If you want to compare crime in SMC, pick another area like Lusby. Waldorf has hiked its criminal activity rate to the point of comparison with those in DC and PG. We are not at that point yet.. not even close. And I know the drugs trickle down from the large cities, to the more violent drug addicted areas (Waldorf), to the wanna be violent drug addicted areas (SMC). And believe me, I dont love SMC and rarely do I defend it. I think this place is a black hole people get sucked into and forget that there is more out there in the world. But you are naive to think because you read a couple articles on TBN every so often about a body found or a robbery that you can start to compare us to Chuck County. Keep your 2cents.. you may need it to pay off a local judge someday.

So your method of discussing a topic is to attempt to insult those that have a different opinion than you...interesting..(retard? really? You dont even know me, you just disagree with my thoughts)...Well I have voiced my opinion which I am entitled to. And for the record I live Waldorf...and I am very familiar with St Marys..I have family and friends in St. Marys...and unless you have personally witnessed every crime in Waldorf, you have become aware of the situations by reading or listening to the news....a method you chose to degrade....in addition, note that I said it is not FAR FETCHED to compare CERTAIN AREAS...once again...CERTAIN AREAS..of St Marys to Waldorf....NOT ALL of St. Marys....so unless a crime has NEVER occured anywhere St. Marys...then it is feasible to make a comparison....nice to know I'll need to pay a local judge someday (once again a person "jab" as though you know me) just because my opinion doesnt SMC supporters...

A homeless guy died in the woods in St. Marys'. In Waldorf they manufacture the dead bodies in the mall parking lots. 'nuff said.

I have to agree with Mr Niceguy here. Yea we have some crime down here but no where near the amount that is happening in Chuck Co. This month alone there has already been a couple of robberies on here, a murder or two, and not to mention a bunch of assault charges. The most you generally read about SMC is an assault and thats generally a domestic dispute. Once in a blue moon u r hear about some crazy $hit in SMC but for the most part it is petty.

There is no comparison...
Waldorf has more crime than in all of the cities in St. Mary's County combined. Just go to crimereports.com and check it out.

mom-of-3 is correct. Waldorf is crime central now. Why do you think they added onto the court house in LaPlata? Need more courts, more judges to have more criminal hearings.

Crime Sucks
I've lived in Waldorf (unfortunately) for years. It was a much lighter and safer area when we first came to the 'Dorf in 1988. As the crudere elements moved South due to cheap housing and rigged gov't loans, Waldorf became a refuge for the undesirables. It's not like you can legally keep them out. They are like a virus and there is no cure. Just the prevention - get a good dog and a gun. Stay safe the rest of you elitists - as soon as they finish raping Chucj County - they will spread your way.

I moved to Waldorf in 1969. Used to be a great place, until the "trash" from P.G. and D.C. were allowed to move in. Now you have D.C. south. Just stand back and let them kill each other off.
