On August 22 from 2 to 10 p.m., at the St. Mary’s BPO Elks Lodge 2092 the Wounded Warrior project will get another boost with the first of its kind Music Festival. All proceeds will go to help the men and women who have dedicated their service to protect our way of life.

Headlining the show on Saturday is the up and coming band, shallowDeep. When contacted about the bands participation, bassist and frontman, Steve Nelson told The BAYNET.com that, “When we were contacted about doing the show, there was no hesitation about donating our time for this amazing project. In fact all the bands are playing for free.”

shallowDeep formed in 2005 and after multiple lineup changes have settled into the current lineup of Steve Nelson on vocals and bass, Chris Frantz on guitar, Kelly Cheseldine on drums.

In April, shallowDeep was chosen as 98 Rocks Band of the Month, winning the band daily spins for the month and an interview with Stash – 98 Rocks’ drive-time DJ.

“We continue to play as much as possible around the DC metro area and are currently writing new material,” said Nelson.

Joining shallowDeep at the show are the bands, Others May Fall and Below Sixth. Each band is donating their time and energy to help the Wounded Warrior Project and the Elks to raise money. Tickets for the Music Festival are very reasonable at $20 for adults 18 and up and only $10 for those under 17.

The event is being planned as a family-friendly event for all ages. There will be a beer garden for adults over 21 in a special section of the Elks facility. There will food and fun for everyone and some great music.
