Food Lion Shoplifter Found Hiding in Bushes

On September 14, at 7:02 p.m, TFC J. A. Pilkerton responded to the Food Lion store located at 20995 Point Lookout Road in Callaway for a shoplifting complainant. 

Upon arrival, TFC Pilkerton observed a black female wearing a blue “T” shirt at the residence next to Food Lion.  TFC Pilkerton made contact with the female employee at the Food Lion who provided TFC Pilkerton with a description of the suspect which matched that of the female TFC Pilkerton observed at the residence next to Food Lion.  TFC Pilkerton responded to the residence and observed the suspect, Doris Elizabeth Thomas, 45 of Lexington Park hiding in the bushes.  

Thomas was charged with Theft under $500 worth of groceries.  She was escorted back to the Food Lion and was positively identified and the groceries were returned.  Thomas was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
