The 2nd District Optimist Club of Tall Timbers invites you to the First Annual Family Fall Festival on Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Mount Olive Farm, 45433 Drayden Road, Valley Lee, MD.

This event features attractions for kids of all ages including games, pumpkin painting, hay rides, food, costume contest and face painting. Admission is $2 for kids 12 and under and $3 for adults. Activity tickets will be available for a dollar each. The proceeds will benefit Carly Rae Eastburn and Camp Inspire. Carly Rae Eastburn, daughter of Doug and Erin Eastburn of Mechanicsville, is a five year old girl who was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor, a kidney cancer that occurs mostly in children, on her left kidney in August 2008. She underwent surgery to remove the tumor and her left kidney. She was treated with chemotherapy from August through December 2008. In April 2009, it was learned that the cancer had recurred in both of Carly Rae's lungs. She recently received radiation and is undergoing chemotherapy weekly throughout October.

Carly Rae is very brave and is fighting to win this battle. Camp Inspire is a local camp for children with autism. Their first summer day camp was offered through a partnership of Director Rocco Aiello, St. Mary's County Department of Recreation and Parks and the St. Mary's County Board of Education. The program is intended to maximize the camper's potential and develop his/her strengths and abilities, while encouraging social and academic skills. In addition, siblings are encouraged to attend the camp to provide the extra comfort and security the autistic child needs.

Mount Olive Farm is located near the Valley Lee Firehouse. From Route 5 turn south on Route 249 in Callaway. Drive approximately four miles and turn left on Drayden Road. Mount Olive Farm is on the top of the hill on the right.
