Choir, Chamber Singers, and Brass Ensemble to Perform Nov. 6
HISTORIC ST. MARY'S CITY - 10/25/2009
|
The St. Mary’s College of Maryland Choir and Chamber Singers and the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Brass Ensemble will perform John Rutter’s modern rendition of “Gloria” at a concert at 4 and 8 p.m. Friday, November 6, at Montgomery Hall 25. They also will play the music of Josquin des Prez, Anton Bruckner, and Morten Lauridzen. British-born Rutter’s compositions are chiefly choral; the world premiere of his cantata "Gloria" played in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1974, and has become a much-performed favorite over the years.
