On Friday, Nov. 20, the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation will present its 22nd Annual Foundation Gala, with the theme “Ain’t Misbehavin.’” Southern Maryland residents will have the opportunity to get dolled up and head to the Hollywood Social Hall for a 1920s inspired evening that will definitely be the bee’s knees. Our dapper guests will enjoy one of the most nifty black tie events in Gala history, benefiting the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation. Prominent businesses, medical professionals and local organizations sponsor the event. During the evening’s ritzy affair, guests will enjoy the savory appetizers and an elegant creation by Master Chef Ken Upton. Featured in several national magazines, he has a distinguished client list, including the White House. During the evening, attendees will cut a rug until midnight to the sounds of Highway Star, a dynamic variety band. Proceeds from the Gala will be dedicated to the hospital’s Scholarship Program, which provides funding to help train talented local scholars for a career in health care. In its 10th year, this unique program is a proactive step to recruit and retain highly qualified employees. The money raised may also go toward capital projects for the hospital. Last year’s event brought in more than $175,000 for scholarships. To date, the program has funded more than 90 scholarships. The Gala is Southern Maryland’s premier formal event for a wonderful cause – our community hospital. It’s the only place to be on Nov. 20 as you begin your holiday season. Make sure you come out so you “Ain’t Misbehavin.’” Seating is limited and ticket prices are $200 per person. Sponsorship opportunities are also available and begin at $750. For more information, please contact our Foundation liaison at 301-475-6455.
