At approximately 3:55 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department and the Huntingtown Rescue Squad were dispatched to an auto accident at Route 4 South and Traskers Blvd. in Prince Frederick.

When units arrived on scene, they discovered a two-car accident with multiple injuries. There was no entrapment, so the Huntingtown Rescue Squad was cancelled. Three ambulances from Prince Frederick and one ambulance from Huntingtown were required to transport five patients to the hospital.

There were four patients in one car and the driver of the other car. All were transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital, four of the patients appeared to have minor injuries, no word on the fifth patient's condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
