Woman Escapes Sword Attack

On Nov. 1, at 1:56 p.m, Tpr. G. A. Thompson responded to the K-Mart parking lot in California for the reported Disturbance.
Upon arrival, contact was made with the female victim, 44 of California. She advised the suspect, Christopher Logan Firestien, 40 of California, assaulted her by grabbing her by the throat and placing a sword up to her neck. The female victim was able to free herself and run from the residence. She drove to the K-Mart parking lot where she called and met with police.
Tpr. Thompson and the victim responded to the residence in the 45000 block of Woodstown Way in California. Tpr. Thompson called for Firestien to exit the residence. Firestien was taken into custody and a strong odor of alcohol was emitting from his person and breath.
He was charged with First-Degree Assault and Second-Degree Assault. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
