On July 4, at approximately 2:00 p.m., deputies responded to Town Creek Drive in California, Maryland for a destruction of property in progress call.

The victim reported he heard several males yelling outside of his residence and then heard a loud noise.  The victim looked outside to investigate and saw that his mailbox was knocked from the post and damaged.  The victim also saw a dark Subaru leaving the area.

As Deputy First Class Boyer was responding to the call he observed a black Subaru leaving Town Creek traveling north on Three Notch Road.  Dfc. Boyer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Christopher William Spak, 19 of Lexington Park.  The Subaru had damage consistent with striking a mailbox.  Further investigation revealed a second mailbox on Town Creek Drive was also damaged and Spak was the individual operating the Subaru when the vehicle struck and damaged the mailboxes.

Spak was arrested and charged with two counts of destruction of property.
